Appliance (PAT) Testing and Microwave Leakage Test

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is an important part of any health & safety policy. The Electricity at Work Regulations place a legal responsibility on employers. This requires the implementation of a systematic and regular programme of testing.

Our Portable Appliance Testing service includes:

  • All equipment is tested, labelled and identified.
  • An itinerary of all items tested is provided.
  • Minor repairs (plug and/or fuse replacement) are carried out on site.
  • All our engineers are independently qualified and certified.

Our equipment is traceable to national standards

We have been made aware of companies being able to offer PAT testing at an extremely low price. Further analysis proves that there have been reported episodes of double testing, for example testing a computer and it’s lead as two items. This is not necessary as it is the lead that provides power to test the computer therefore this is classed as one tested item.

In addition to PAT testing we also provide:

Microwave Leakage Testing.

Microwave radiation is both odorless and invisible. Leakage can be caused by slamming the oven door, leaving foodparticles in the hinges or seals andmoving the oven around etc.

A radiation intensity of only 5mw/cm2 is classed as being harmful, regular testing enables the identification of defective leaking microwave ovens.

Oakrange use the most advanced microwave leakage meters for your safety and peace of mind.
